The world's largest floating storage and re-gasifier (FSRU) "MOL FSRU Challenger" has officially opened in Turkey.
"MOL FSRU Challenger, is currently the world's largest FSRU, by the Japanese owner mitsui osk subordinate European LNG transport co., LTD. On October 10, 2017 from South Korea's daewoo shipbuilding, yu pu shipyard receive delivery, arrived in Turkey in November 2017.
Turkey's state-owned gas supply network, Botas, leased the FSRU from mitsui, an import port, for the botas-dortyolfsru wharf project. By using FSRU, Turkey can reduce the cost of gas transmission and distribution of pipelines and transport costs.
The "MOL FSRU Challenger" has the largest capacity of 263,000 cubic meters of LNG storage capacity, with the highest and largest enhancement design of the GTT No96 thin-film cargo containment system. The ship's huge capacity of evaporation gas processing machinery will help with high transfer rate from the shuttle receiving LNG ship, also conduce to LNG again to shuttle carrier in order to realize transport LNG supply to neighboring regions. On board the regasification chute (Regasificationskid) and gas transmission machinery design USES high redundancy and strong isolation principle, and has confirmed that the nominal working reliability of the whole system of 98.5%, thus will help to achieve LNG storage tank and regasification slide without interruption regasification service maintenance on a regular basis.
