French oil company total petroleum announced that its deep-sea drilling platform in the Kaombo offshore oil production area of southwest Africa, the largest drilling platform for total in Angola, will achieve 115,000 barrels per day of crude oil production capacity, the largest currently in use in the angolan waters.
Since then, total is also set to start production next year on a similar rig, bringing its capacity in the area to 230,000 barrels a day.
