Damen Marine Components (DMC) and Van der Velden Marine Systems (VDVMS), based in the Netherlands, have recently merged into one company. The new company is called Damen Marine Components Netherlands(DMC NL).

Founded in the early 1980s, DMC is an integral part of the da men shipyard group. In 2013, Van der Velden ship systems began to be a subsidiary company of the ship component of the dun shipyard group. It is reported that the merger of the two companies will enable the two companies to work closely together to improve product performance, integrate the resources of both parties to expand the market, and customers can also get more product categories.

The Van der VeldenMarine Systems brand will continue to be the trademark of the new company's rudder products and steering gear products.

The combined DMC NL company will be the managing director of Steef Staal. Wim Knoester is the commercial director and Peter Schipper is the chief financial officer.
