On March 17, the Meizi Wind Farm of PetroChina Jilin Oilfield was connected to the power grid, marking the full operation of CNPC's first wind power project.
As an important part of the 150,000 kW self-consumed wind and solar power project under construction in Jilin Oilfield, the facility comprises 18 wind turbine generators with a total installed capacity of 78,000 kW and an annual generation capacity of 260 million kWh. With all electricity generated utilized by the oil and gas production operations in the oilfield, each year, the project can reduce carbon emissions by up to 202,000 tons (or 79,000 tons of standard coal equivalent), and save RMB 85 million of electricity cost in oil and gas production.
